APRIL 4, 1941
Mrs. Walter L. Perry was At the annual election of officers for the year, the Philadelphia Rotary Club named A.H. McMullen, Superintendent of the Choctaw Indian Agency, as President. He will assume office in July and will succeed Jack McClain.
Sara Smith of County Line and Elizabeth Cole of Forest Dale won the right to represent Neshoba County in Poultry Judging at the Southeast Mississippi Livestock Show at Forest by rating highest in a contest for 4-H Poultry girls. The contest was open to third year, or over, poultry girls.
MARCH 29, 1951
Billy Prince, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Prince, of Philadelphia, will leave for New York City where he will attend a week’s study and research work, under the sponsorship of the National Association of Advertising Agencies. Mr. Prince, will represent Mississippi State College, from which institution he will graduate this spring from the commerce Department. One hundred colleges over the nation will have representation for the annual study.
MARCH 30, 1961
Members of the Mississippi Economic Council in Neshoba County have elected Felton Grubbs and George Day, both of Philadelphia, chairman and vice chairman respectively, for the MEC during the fiscal year beginning of May, according to the J.L. Hailey of Hickory, MEC Vice President for this area. The new chairman and vice chairman will succeed Pete DeWeese and T.A. Webb, both of Philddelphai, who have been serving during the past year.
APRIL 2, 1971
O.W. Hardy has been named security policeman for the Neshoba County General Hospital. His duties will include enforcement of visiting regulations and maintenance of la and order in the hospital and on the grounds.
The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association in Neshoba County met at the Colonial House Restaurant and announced that Mrs. Mrs. Mami Nicholson was now Alumni President.

Therrell Myers, Superintendent of the Philadelphia Schools, announced today the employment of Bobby Richardson as both boys and girls basketball coach at Philadelphia High School. Richardson is a native of Kemper County and a graduate of Nanih Waiya High School.
Miss Tammy Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bennett of Yellville, Arkansas, recently won a $50 savings Bond in the Eagle essay contest held in her school. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Hand of Memphis, and great-granddaughter of Mrs. Lucille Wells of Philadelphia.
APRIL 3, 1991
University Medical Center Administrator Larry Keller, presents a special awrad to Sally Willis after she was selected UMC’s Employee of the Year. The announcement was made during the hospital’s employee service awards banquet. Willis, who works in housekeeping, was also presented $500. She is the daughter of Charles and Winnie Isaac of Philadelphia.

Miriam Wilson of Philadelphia, recently served as a page for the Mississippi Senate. Pages generally run errands for officials and Senate staff. She is with Lieutenant Governor Amy Tuck, who sponsored her visit, and Senator Gloria Willis and attends Choctaw Central High School.

Hannah Watson, a senior at Neshoba Central High School, and Sarah Mars, a senior at Philadelphia High School, were selected Rotary Students of the months.
Michaela Beason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Beason, exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion Jersey at the Southwest District Livestock Show held in Jackson. She also placed first in 10-11 year old dairy showmanship.
