A Preston man was arrested and charged on weapons and drug charges after he was pulled over in the Sandtown community over the weekend, the authorities said.

The man, Cedric D. Mcgraw, 47, 27 Valley road, Preston, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana in a vehicle, possession with intent to distribute, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

Clark said McGraw was arrested at a checkpoint at the intersection of Road 482 and Road 763 in the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 30.

Clark said deputies initiated an arrest when they discovered McGraw had a warrant out of Kemper County.

A subsequent search revealed McGraw had a 9mm pistol hidden under his shirt and a meth pipe on him. The search also yielded two baggies of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine as well as another baggie containing marijuana.

McGraw remains in the Neshoba County Detention Center awaiting an initial bond appearance.
