A Collinsville man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after he allegedly shot into a home where his mother and two children were earlier this month.

The man, Jacob L. Sullivan, 24, 10790 Road 711, Collinsville, was arrested and charged with domestic violence, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

Clark said deputies were dispatched on April 1 at 11 a.m. to the home on Road 711 to a call of shots fired into a dwelling

Deputies encountered Sullivan’s mom who said her son had gone into “a rage” during an argument and went outside to get his gun, a .40 caliber pistol, from his vehicle.

The woman told deputies she went and got her shotgun and when she peeked out to see what Sullivan was doing he fired multiple shots into the house.

Sullivan’s children were in the home when the shots were fired, Clark said.

Clark said the woman fired a shotgun blast into the air and Sullivan left the scene in his vehicle.

The investigation identified bullet holes in the porch, door, and back bedroom of the residence.

Deputies caught up with Sullivan the following day during a traffic stop on Highway 15 South at about 6 p.m. between Philadelphia and Linwood, Clark said. Sullivan was the passenger in a vehicle and was arrested shortly after being identified.
