Authorities are asking for assistance in solving a burglary of a home under renovation on Highway 19 south of Philadelphia at the end of last month in which about $1,200 in tools were taken.

Sheriff Eric Clark said the crime was reported on April 30 when homeowners returned to a trailer they were remodeling on property they own on Highway 19 South near Cheatham Wrecker.

Clark said the homeowners reported leaving around 2 p.m. and returned at 6:30 p.m. to find some tools had been stolen. Deputies received the call at about 6:38 p.m.

Stolen tools include a Kobalt chainsaw, Kobalt pole saw, Kobalt hedge trimmer, 2 Dewalt battery powered drills, a Dewalt nail gun, Dewalt reciprocating saw and a 6 amp battery. Clark said each item was battery-powered and relatively easy to carry. The owner reported an estimated value of the tools stolen at $1,203.

Entry was made through a front door. Clark said the lock could have been manipulated with a credit card.

A search of area pawn shops has not revealed any of the stolen items. Clark said his office believes those responsible will try to unload the items through black market sales when they feel safe unloading the tools.
