A Kiln woman looking for property to buy here was arrested on drug trafficking charges at a roadblock on Highway 15 South Friday.

The woman, Kelsi Danielle Feliciano, 35, of 19453 Highway 603, Kiln, was arrested and charged with trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

Deputies encountered Feliciano at a safety checkpoint on Friday, April 26, at about 4:45 p.m.

Clark said Feliciano was driving a brand new black Chevy Suburban with less than 1,000 miles on it. Feliciano also had a passenger in the vehicle, an adult female.

Clark said deputies immediately smelled the “overwhelming” smell of burning marijuana and saw a pistol on the floorboard near Feliciano.

Feliciano told deputies that they had just smoked marijuana and gave permission for them to search the vehicle.

The deputies found a total of three handguns in the vehicle as well as bottles of whiskey, the stub of a smoked marijuana cigarette, and a pill bottle containing 87 ecstasy pills. Clark said more than 40 pills constitute a trafficking charge.

Though she gave the Kiln address, Clark said Feliciano said she had driven in from New Orleans to look at land to purchase as she believed land is cheaper and the crime is lower in rural Mississippi compared to New Orleans.

The passenger was not arrested and was picked up by a family member.
