A construction trailer taken from Winston County early Monday morning was recovered in Neshoba County later that afternoon.

A 16-foot Hercules tandem axle trailer was recovered on Road 171 off of Highway 19 north in Neshoba County about 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, said Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

He said that the trailer was reported stolen earlier that morning about 9 a.m. from Louisville.

“We believe it was taken sometime during the night or early morning,” Clark said. “We got a tip yesterday afternoon and made the recovery.”

Clark said that the trailer was empty when they found it. He said that it had been full of tools and equipment for construction and carpentry jobs.

Clark said they had been unloaded at another location before the trailer was dumped. He said that the owner had taken inventory of his equipment earlier this year. He said the list runs about five pages long and includes a variety of saws, levels, a leaf blower and other tools.

This trailer is reported to be the second taken from Winston County in “the last week or so.”

Clark’s office also recovered a trailer on Nov. 30, that was stolen from a Brooksville worksite in Noxubee County.
