Wesley House plants pinwheels to raise awareness for child abuse
This morning, Wesley House Community Center gathered community members at The Historic Train Depot to plant “Pinwheels of Hope,” a symbolic gesture to spin up awareness for child abuse.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the spinning pinwheels represent the joy, safety, and carefree spirit every child deserves.
In addition to the pinwheel planting, Wesley House is inviting the public to attend its upcoming event, “Lights of Hope and Healing,” a candlelight service set for Thursday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Courthouse.
The event will honor survivors of child abuse and sexual assault, while shining a light on the importance of prevention, healing, and support.
“Let’s stand as a community, uplift survivors, and commit to a brighter, safer future for all,” reads the event flyer. “Let your light shine. Let our voices be heard.”
