Warriors best Northeast Lauderdale to improve to 4-3

The Choctaw Central Warriors picked up an important Region 4-4A victory last Friday night as they knocked off Northeast Lauderdale 33-12 in prep football action.

Channing Jimmie put the Warriors on the scoreboard in the first quarter on a two-yard run. The extra point try was no good and the Warriors led 6-0.

Choctaw Central scored again when Keyshawn Ben ran into the endzone from 22-yards out. Christian Davis kicked the extra point, his first of the season, and the Warriors led 13-0.

In the second quarter, Ben scored twice.  The first came on an 18-yard run, and the second was on a 10-yard run. Davis converted one extra point and the Warriors led 26-0 at the half.

Northeast Lauderdale scored in the third quarter and trailed 26-6. The Warriors then scored their final points on Jimmie’s 40-yard run. The extra point was good and the Warriors led 33-6.

The Trojans scored late in the fourth quarter.

Jimmie was the Warriors’ leading rusher with 123  yards while Ben had 86 rushing yards and 58 passing yards.

Chit Johnson and Braylon McMillian both had five tackles while Gage Lewis had four. Cruz Wilson had two big stops.

The Warriors, now 4-3, return to action Friday night when they visit West Lauderdale.
