Virgil Fontenot

A graveside service for Virgil Fontenot was held Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Center Hill Cemetery in Neshoba County with Rev. Jerry Bishop officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fontenot, 91, of Philadelphia, died Friday, January 20, 2023, at his home. 

He was a native of Jennings, LA, and a resident of Philadelphia, MS, for the past several years.  He graduated from the University of Arkansas and retired from the state of Louisiana.  Mr. Fontenot served in the USMC. 

Survivors include daughter, Cynthia Savoy of Lafayette, LA; sons, Donald Ray Fontenot of French Settlement, LA, and Michael Joseph Fontenot of Eureka Springs, AR; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fontenot was preceded in death by wife, Delores Fontenot; daughter, Jamie Lynn Fontenot; and sister, Sandra Fontenot Guzman.
