Victims identified in fatal Bethsaida crash

Two people were fatally injured Wednesday evening in a multi-vehicle wreck on Mississippi 19 south at Bethsaida, the authorities said.

The victims were identified as 20-year-old James Castillo and 19-year-old Colby Maddox both of Philadelphia, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Jameka Moore. He said they received fatal injuries in the crash and were pronounced dead on the scene.

“This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol,” Moore said.

On Wednesday, March 22, at about 5:10 p.m., MHP responded to a the wreck on Highway 19 south in Neshoba County.

A 2020 Hyundai Palisade, driven by 42-year-old Latricia Hunter of Philadelphia, was traveling north on Highway 19 when it collided with a 2016 Ford Focus driven by 44-year-old Sandra Pinter of Philadelphia, traveling south on Highway 19.

According to Moore, Maddox and Castillo were passengers of the Ford Focus.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said two others were seriously injured but have not been identified.
