Union woman charged with felony amount of crystal meth

A Union woman was charged with a felony amount of crystal meth in the wee hours Wednesday morning on Highway 16 west near Choctaw, the authorities said.

Martha M. Anding, 66, 11371 Highway 15 south, Union, was arrested and charged with careless driving, no proof of liability insurance, possession of paraphernalia and felony possession of a controlled substance, said Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

A Neshoba County Deputy initiated a traffic stop at about 3 a.m. on a Silver Toyota Highlander near Industrial Drive, Clark said.

“The Toyota was observed driving in a careless manner,” he said.

The traffic stop was made near the intersection of Highway 16 west and Industrial Drive. The driver was identified as Anding.

The traffic stop netted a felony amount of controlled substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.

Anding was booked on an $8,100 bond. She posted bond the following day, Thursday, May 20.
