Two Union men were arrested with forged checks at one of the casino parking lots last week after reports of suspicious activity.

Jarrod Keith Stuart, 34, 302 Main Street, Union, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of counterfeit instruments in the Tuesday, June 16 incident at Pearl River Resort.

He remained Tuesday in the Neshoba County Detention Center on $20,000 in bond.

Charles Rhodes, 40, 10150 County Road 325, Union, was arrested and charged with one count of possession of counterfeit instruments, possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rhodes remains in custody on $18,100 in bond.

Sheriff Eric Clark said that the “counterfeit instruments” in both cases were determined to be fake checks.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Golden Moon Resort parking area for a report of a suspicious person and suspicious activity.

Clark said that officers arrived and made contact with Stuart and Rhodes and a resulting investigation led to the arrest of both parties.
