Two men were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Fork Road late last month, the authorities said.

The driver, Reuben Boatner, 65, 12702 Road 383, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

He was booked at about 5 p.m. and posted a $25,000 bond.

A passenger, identified as Mike Morris, 50, 10840 Road 822, was initially detained but was not charged. He was arrested on Nov. 29 and released the following day.

Clark said the two men were arrested during a traffic stop at the intersection Fork Road and Highway 19 North around 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28.

Boatner was identified soon after deputies made the traffic stop and was found to have an indictment for drug charges dating back to 2009.

While making the arrest and interviewing the two men, Clark said deputies found a glass pipe on Morris’ and seven clear baggies of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.

Both men were out of jail on bond Tuesday, Clark said.
