Two face meth possession charges

A Safety Checkpoint at the intersection of Highway 19 south and County Road 298 netted two felony drug arrests on the first of the month.

Jerry Lynn Hester, 54, of 3517 Ferigrick St., Pascagoula, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear.

Kayla Nicole Sims, 32, of 12661 Road 270 was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Sheriff Eric Clark said that both suspects were arrested with felony amounts of crystal methamphetamine.

Neshoba County Jail records show that the two individuals were arrested around 15 minutes apart in the early morning hours of Aug. 1, a Sunday.

Sims has been denied bond. Hester remains in custody as of Thursday on $15,600 in bond. Clark said he was scheduled to go before a judge Thursday regarding the failure to appear charge.
