Two Union men were arrested with forged checks at one of the casino parking lots on Mississippi 16 Tuesday after deputies received reports of suspicious activity.

Jarrod Keith Stuart of 302 Main Street, Union, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of counterfeit instruments.

Charles Rhodes of 10150 County Road 325, Union, was arrested and charged with one count of possession of counterfeit instruments, possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Eric Clark said that the “counterfeit instruments” were determined to be fake checks.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Golden Moon Resort parking area for a report of a suspicious person and suspicious activity.

Clark said that officers arrived and made contact with Stuart and Rhodes and a resulting investigation led to the arrest of both parties.

Clark said that anyone that has any information about crimes in the area is encouraged to please call Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office at 601-656-1414 or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 1-855-485-8477 (TIPS).
