Tribe receives EPA grant

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently presented a check to Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben on behalf of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians’ Environmental Protection program.

The Tribe was selected to receive a $200,000 Trash-Free Waters Grant that will go toward the cleaning efforts of Kentawka Canal, which runs past Canal Place into the Pearl River near the Choctaw Indian Reservation west of Philadelphia.
