Trailer stolen from church lot
Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a trailer stolen from the parking lot of the Church at the Arc after they arrested a woman.
The woman, Nikita M. Jenkins, 36, 2205 27th Avenue, Meridian, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, according to Police Chief Eric Lyons.
Philadelphia Police are searching for Melvin L. Holesome, 61, of Meridian, who is believed to be an accomplice.
“Holesome has also been charged but has not been found at this time,” Lyons said. “The trailer has been recovered and returned to the church.”
On Wednesday, July 24, at about 12 p.m., officers responded to a call about a theft at the church on Lakeside Drive, Lyons said.
Officers were advised that a utility trailer had been stolen from the parking lot earlier in the morning.
“Surveillance video showed a white SUV pull into the parking lot and a black male hook the trailer up to leave,” Lyons said.
During the investigation, officers were able to locate a tag number and surveillance of the vehicle with the trailer attached traveling in Meridian, Lyons said.
Deputies with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department stopped the vehicle, where Jenkins was taken into custody on unrelated charges.
She was transported to Philadelphia, where she was charged with grand larceny.
