Chancellor Greer scored three touchdowns to lead the Philadelphia Tornadoes past Raymond High School 35-34 Friday night in prep football action.

The Tornadoes improved to 1-1 and will be at home Friday night against Leake Central.

The Rangers had a size advantage over the Tornadoes and contained their offense in the first half. Coach David Frey made some adjustments at the half.

“They were way bigger than us and we had a tough time,” Frey said. “We weren’t blocking our normal runs right so went to the pass/run options. We ran zone and I told my quarterback that we were going to run routes. If it was there, throw the pass. We were kind of out of our game plan but it worked.”

Raymond scored on its first possession. The Rangers took the ball on the Philadelphia 46-yard line and put together an eight-play drive. K’swaya Moffett ran it in from five yards out. The extra-point try was no good and the Rangers led 6-0 with eight minutes left in the first quarter.
