Tom Turner

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. from First United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

A native and a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, MS, he was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and the University of Mississippi.  He was owner and operator of Turner Surveying and Mapping.  Tom was a beloved youth sports coach, coaching children in baseball and soccer for many years.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia. Tom loved Ole Miss Football games and tailgating in The Grove.  

Survivors include daughter, Mali Turner (Peter Schmitt) of Philadelphia, MS; sons, Dustin Turner of Dallas, TX, Kip Turner (Haley), Joey Turner and Beck Turner, all of Philadelphia, MS; grandchildren, Leonie Schmitt, Lydia Schmitt, Reid Thompson, Leyton Turner, Olivia Turner, Willow Grace Turner, Wilder Beckett Turner; brothers, Ken Turner (Patrice) and Dan Turner; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. 

Preceding Mr. Turner in death were his wife, Molly Ruffin Turner; and parents, Joe and Mary “Mac” Turner. 

The family has requested those who wish to express sympathy, that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Porter Jordan Memorial Fund.
