Thames, Keats shine on next level

Meloney Thames, who played at Choctaw Central and Carly Keats, who from Neshoba Central, have had an outstanding season as Jones College. The eighth-ranked Bobcats are currently 25-3 and will participate in the NJCAA Division I Tournament, beginning March 22 in Lubbock, Texas.

As a freshman, Thames was an NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American, an NJCAA All-Star and was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team. She was also a First-Team All-MACCC and All-Region 23 performer. She has already signed with Mississippi State University.

Keats had a season-high 21 points in a 78-63 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast on Jan. 9 and a season-high nine assists in an 87-58 victory over Copiah-Lincoln on Jan. 19. She has already signed with Arkansas.
