A teenager has been arrested in a shooting on the Choctaw Indian Reservation.

The Choctaw Police Department, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is currently investigating the shooting incident. 

Preliminary information indicates that on Friday, a shooting occurred off Oswald Road near Duplex Drive in the Pearl River community.

One man was shot and taken to the Choctaw Health Center and transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. No arrest has been made. 

According to the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office, Braden Robert Townsend, 19, is a person of interest who has been arrested.

Officials said this investigation is active and ongoing.
