Tanksley’s two-run single propels Tornadoes over Forest

Brelon Tanksley singled in two runs in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Philadelphia Tornadoes to a 10-9 victory over Forest Saturday in prep baseball action.

Philadelphia earlier had scored two in the first, four in the third and two in the fourth. Forest scored one in the first, two in the second, three in the third and three in the top of the ninth to go up 9-8.

Two runners got on base. Then Tanksley came up with his big hit. For the night, Tanksley had two hits and four RBIs.

LeKeistan Tisdale was the winning pitcher as the Tornadoes improved to 2-9.

Both teams finished with 14 hits.

Laydric Carter hit a home run and three singles. He scored three runs and knocked in three RBIs. Boogie Bingham hit a home run and a single. He scored three runs and knocked in another. Tisdale hit a single and scored two runs. Dee Burnside had three hits and scored one run.

Earlier, the Tornadoes dropped an 11-0 decision to Scott Central. Burnside hit a double and a single. Mason McCann and Patrick Miller both hit a single.

McCann, Tisdale and Bingham all pitched during the game.

The Tornadoes have two games slated for this week. They were to host Newton High School on Tuesday and visit the Tigers on Thursday.
