More than 28 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized and a Neshoba County man arrested Saturday after a Chevrolet Malibu was spotted swerving on Highway 492 east of Union.

Johnathan B. Crocker, 40, of 10860 Road 541, was arrested and charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, officials said.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said that the arrest came in connection with the traffic stop on Saturday, Dec. 26 in the early afternoon.

Neshoba County deputies stopped the careless driver of a white Chevrolet Malibu on Highway 492 near County Road 274 between Union and House in Neshoba County.

The Malibu was pulled over and determined to be occupied by Crocker. Clark said that the traffic stop netted more than 28 grams — or about an ounce — of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Crocker was taken to the Neshoba County Detention Center where he is being held as well for a Drug Court violation.

Crocker has been in and out of jail since 2005, records show, from DUI second refusal to failure to comply and failure to pay.
