PHILADELPHIA - The Southeastern Rodeo Association finals return to the Neshoba County Coliseum this weekend for the ninth straight year.

Cowboys and cowgirls have been competing for cash and points for the past year in rodeos across the southeast United States. Now the top 15 in each event will be coming to Philadelphia with the hope of winning the top prize in their division.

The season involved 56 rodeos during 2019. The competitors will come in for two nights of competition to decide the winners in the following divisions: bull riding, roping and calf roping, bareback riding, calf roping, break away roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and cowgirls barrel racing.

"You will see the top rodeo stars," spokesman Bill Hudson said. "They come from all over. And some of the division are very close and will come down to the final night."

The top livestock will be there as well. Hudson said the bulls and bucking broncos receive points during the year. Livestock stock producers will have their animals here, looking for prize money.

The doors open at 6 p.m. each night and the show starts at 7 p.m. Following Saturday night's performance, there will be an awards ceremony at the Golden Moon poker room. The public is invited.
