Sonya Elinor Wood Marcase

Services for Sonya Elinor Wood Marcase were held Sept. 10 in Pineville, La. Stewart Holloway officiated.  She was born Nov. 3, 1933 in Neshoba County, Miss. and died on Sept. 8. She was a graduate of East Central Community College, Mississippi College and Northwestern State University. She taught in Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky and Louisiana. She was a member of First Baptist Church Pineville for nearly 50 years.

Mrs. Marcase was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Madden Wood and Gussie Lee Smith Wood, her husband of 53 years, Donald E. Marcase, her daughter, Donna Sue Marcase, her only granddaughter, Molly Kate Marcase, and her older brother, Wayne Wood. She is survived by sons David (Marta) Marcase, and John (Monica) Marcase; siblings Fay Flint; Eckle (Janet) Wood; and Patricia (Bernie) Orr; and 5 grandsons.

Pallbearers were Darrell Basco, Lynn Cavanaugh, Melvin Orr, Mike Peevy, Vic Sooter and Jan Tullos.
