The Neshoba County Soil & Water Conservation District hosted their Annual Members Banquet on last month at the Neshoba County Coliseum with approximately 131 members in attendance. Outstanding Farmers and Conservationists were honored during the ceremony as well as Poster and Essay finalist.

The 2020 Poster Contest winners were as follows: 

1st place – Hannah Bennett, 

2nd place – Madison Johnson 

3rd place — Jaak Dempsey. 

The 2021 Poster and Essay contest winners were honored at a separate event in 2021. The 2022 Poster and Essay winners were as follows; 

Poster winners for Grades 2-3: 

1st – A’Ria McMillan, 

2nd – Mariah McBeath 

3rd – Jacaius Willis. 

Grades 4-6: 

1st – Mamie Sam, 

2nd – Braelynn Thomas 

3rd – Dacey Jefferson. 

Grades 7-9: 

1st – Shastyn Lewis. 

Essay Contest winners were as follows: 

Grades 7-8 

1st place – Shastyn Lewis 

Grades 9-10 

1st place – Delaiah Billy. 

Neshoba County Board of Supervisors received the “Friend of Conservation” award. Grant McDaniel received the “Outstanding Poultry Producer” award. Travis Creel received the “Outstanding Woodland Conservationist” award. Brock Phillips received the “Outstanding Livestock Producer” award. Sipsy Creek Game Preserve received the “Outstanding Wildlife Conservationist” award. 

The “Conservation Farmer of the Year” award was presented to Patrick Pinte.
