UPDATE | A man has been arrested

A shootout Tuesday night at a convenience store in downtown Philadelphia has injured a man.

The shooting happened at the Chevron at the intersection of Main Street and Holland Avenue.

A man was shot multiple times by another male after an argument between the two. 

One man was taken by private vehicle to Neshoba General and is being airlifted to a Jackson hospital, Police Chief Eric Lyons said.

The shooting suspect was still on scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody but has not been identified.

Lyons said the investigation is still ongoing. “Will advise further when new information is available,” he told the Democrat.

The shooting occurred shortly before 6 p.m.

Lyons said that a male victim was shot multiple times following an argument with the other man.
