Sheriff’s department arrests 3 men for theft of 4-wheeler

Three men have been arrested in connection with a four-wheeler theft at a small engine repair shop in August.

Michael Blaine Gill, 21, of 1665 County Road 1, Gallion, Ala., has been arrested and charged with two counts of grand larceny. Travis Allen James, Jr., 18, of 6948 Highway 488, Carthage, and Joshua Wilkerson, 28, of 1110 Gomillion Road, Walnut Grove, were both charged with grand larceny.

Clark said that Gill was picked up in Linden, Ala., on a separate offense. Clark said that Gill waived extradition before being transported back to the Neshoba County Detention Center.  

All three have been charged with grand larceny and placed on a $7,500 bond. Gill also has a bond of $10,000 for his second grand larceny charge.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said last week that his deputies, with the assistance of Leake County Sheriff Randy Atkinson, recovered the stolen ATV from Cedar Hill Loop Road in Leake County.

The combined effort between both departments led to the recovery of a black and silver Polaris 800 four-wheeler reported stolen on Aug. 24 from a small engine shop on Road 343 in Neshoba County.

Clark said last week that that Judge Johnathan Spears came in late at night to issue the warrant that led to securing the stolen ATV.

“Thank you, Judge Spears, for going to the office during the middle of the night to ensure a warrant was issued for the violator,” Clark said. “A fine example of teams working together to provide a safer place for Neshoba Countians to live.” 

Initial reports suggested that Clark and his office were looking for a fourth suspect, but Clark confirmed Monday that he is confident they have arrested all individuals involved with the theft of the ATV though he said they are looking into connections these suspects may have to other crimes committed in the county.
