A rash of burglaries reported late last week on Blackjack Road coming into the county from Edinburg  are being investigated, the authorities said.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said one mobile home and three vehicles were hit along that road. Clark said they were believed to occur overnight on Thursday, June 16, and were reported on Friday, June 17.

Clark said the biggest ticket item was a .22 caliber revolver taken from one of the vehicles. Other items taken from vehicles included loose change and cell phone chargers. He said the largest amount of money taken from any vehicle is believed to be about $30.

He said a window air conditioning unit, a fan, and tools such as a drill, circular saws and other hand tools were taken from the residence.

Upon investigation, his office discovered that the door handle to the back door of the mobile home had been broken off and it was determined this is how entry was made.

The Choctaw Police Department is assisting the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office in investigating this case.

Anyone with information related to this incident or any other potential crimes is encouraged to please call Crime Stoppers at (855) 485-8477.
