SEC honors Griffin’s performance

Philadelphia Tornado graduate Lideatrick ‘Tulu’ Griffin, now a junior wide receiver at Mississippi State, was named the SEC co-Special teams Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.

The Philadelphia native returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter against Auburn. The Bulldogs won the game 39-33. State will host Georgia on Saturday.

Griffin has tied Mississippi State’s record for kickoff return touchdowns with two.

Bulldogs coach Mike Leach was quoted on Twitter as saying his coaches are looking for ways to get Griffin more involved in the offense. According to ESPN stats, he has 25 catches for 331 yards this year.
