Sammy Breland

Funeral services for Sammy Breland were held on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 3 p.m. from Linwood Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Hill and Rev. Mike Skinner officiating. Burial followed in Linwood Cemetery.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Breland, 58, of Collinsville, MS, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

He was a native of Linwood Community of Neshoba County and a resident for the past 20 years of the Martin Community of Lauderdale County.  He was a former owner/operator of Breland Construction Company and also worked in pipeline construction.  Mr. Breland attended Pine Forest Baptist Church in Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Marlena Breland of Martin; daughter, Emily McCary (Justin) of Meridian; sons, Brooks Breland of Collinsville and Hunter Breland of Martin; grandchildren, Dylan and Jaxon McCary and expected arrival, Lyla Rae; sisters, Pam Singleton (Billy); Terri Eaves (Ken) and Toni Breland all of Philadelphia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Mr. Breland was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Breland; brother, Jeffrey Breland.

Pallbearers were Andy Breland, Drew Breland, Alex Goforth, Tim Blackburn, Tab Blackburn, and Glen Sistrunk.  Honorary pallbearers were Greg Tynes, Scott Tynes, Scott Matthews, and Bailey Mayatt.
