Ruth Sockey Williams

Funeral services for Ms. Ruth Sockey Williams were held at 1 PM Friday, February 3, 2023 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Robert Patrick officiating. Interment was in Conehatta Community Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8 PM Thursday, February 2, 2023 and from 8 AM-12 Noon Friday, February 3, 2023 with a private family hour from 12-1 PM at John E. Stephens Chapel. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements. 

Ms. Williams, 86, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Choctaw Residential Center. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, social gatherings, making friends and talking to people. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carter Williams; parents, Mike Sockey and Nephus Amos Sockey; sisters, Valarie Sockey, Reba Jim, Dora Johnson, Delores Sockey, Baby Girl; brothers, Enoch Sockey, Odell Sockey, Elvin Sockey.

Survivors include daughters, Linda Williams and Dinah Williams; sister, Sadie Wilson; brother, Clyde Sockey; 2 granddaughters, LynJorae J. Williams, DeJorae D. Williams.

Pallbearers are Chris Evans, Brant Isaac, Jeremy Denson, Kent Wesley, Roderick Sockey, Dudley Denson, Marco Patrick, Ricky Edwards, Jalen Wilson.
