A missing 14-year-old Neshoba County girl was located in Stone County over the weekend, and the 30-year-old Poplarville man she was with is under investigation.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said his office could cancel a search for the girl at about 4:15 p.m. on Sunday when Stone County law enforcement officials said they had located the girl in Wiggins traveling with a man from Poplarville.

“We are in the process of investigating what happened,” Clark said. “There are still a lot of things that are unknown.”

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation. Clark said investigators have interviews planned with the man and forensic interviews scheduled with the girl.

“We are waiting on those interviews to see if we can put the pieces of the puzzle together,” Clark said. “If we determine a crime took place, we will build our case to ensure the District Attorney’s Office has the opportunity to prosecute the case.”

The girl, Sabrina Faith Duran, was reported missing on Saturday, Dec. 28, at about 3:20 p.m. when a family member said they had not seen her for about 20 or 30 minutes and did not know where she was.

Reportedly, she was last seen at a residence off Highway 485 in Neshoba County. She was reportedly last seen wearing a white tee shirt, Garfield pajama pants, and white Fila high-top tennis shoes.

Deputies searched the area and places of interest in Neshoba County where she might be but could not find the missing teenager, Clark said.

On Sunday at about noon, Clark said his office contacted the MBI for their assistance, and they issued a bulletin before she was found in Wiggins later that day.

Clark said they are not releasing the man’s name because he has not been charged with a crime.
