Rickey Alan Melton
Funeral services for Rickey Alan Melton was held Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1 pm from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Hal Hall officiating. Burial followed in Sandtown Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 5 until 8 pm at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
Mr. Melton, 69, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
Rickey was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. He was a retired Industrial Engineer for Chata Manufacturing and Midland Manufacturing of Union and was a farmer. Mr. Melton was a member of Sandtown United Methodist Church. He was the Founder and President of Lobutcha Hunting Club, a member of American Brahman Breeders Association and Mississippi Cattlemen's Association. He coached youth sports and umpired for several years and was a local 4-H volunteer and leader.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Melton of Philadelphia; Daughter, Reagan Melton of Philadelphia; sons, Ben Melton (Betsy) of Philadelphia and Ike Melton (Amanda) of Philadelphia; granddaughters, Haley Alayna and Heidi Susan; sisters, Martha McElhenney (Jimmy) of Union and Linda Waites of Germantown; several nieces, nephews and their families.
Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Sue Melton; brother, Sammy Melton.
