Rhonda Lynn Rogers

Graveside services for Rhonda Lynn Rogers were held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Cemetery at Union under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home, North Chapel, 9998 Hwy. 15 North, Newton.

Burial followed the graveside service.

Bro. Mitchell Graham officiated.

Mrs. Rogers, age 70, and a current resident of Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Specialty Hospital of Meridian.  She was born Saturday, April 12, 1952  at Laird Hospital. Mrs. Rogers worked for the Newton County Health Department as a secretary. She was a simple person who enjoyed the simple things of life, and loved her only grandson, Tucker, very much.

She was preceded in death by one son, Michael McElhenney;   her father, Roger McElhenney;  her mother, Martha Eshee McElhenney;  one brother, Rodney McElhenney and one niece, Kristy Freeny.

Survivors include one sister, Marcia McElhenney Boswell (Ted) of Carthage; one grandson, Tucker  McElhenney;  one niece, Kari McGee (Zach) and her honorary sister: Jan McNeil, for her love and care for Rhonda during her illness.

Pallbearers were Ted Boswell, Todd Reeves, Jared Blanton, Jeff Cater, Robert Smith, and Harlan Phillips.  

Honorary pallbearers were Freddy McNeil and Cobert Phillips.

Newton County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
