Funeral services for Rev. David Eugene Linton Sr. was held at 2 PM Sunday, August 1, 2021 at New Zion Pentecostal Church . Interment was in Henry’s Chapel Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel in charge. 

Rev. Linton was born February 27, 1940 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Adam Edward and Eddie, Edith Linton and passed from this life July 27, 2021 at 81 years of age.

He was married to Alice Benson on August 19, 1962 in Philadelphia, Mississippi

He was the pastor of Faith Tabernacle in Foley, Alabama for 15 years. Over several years , he was an interim pastor for many struggling churches, helping them to mature and grow. His passion was to build a work for the kingdom of God. He was the pastor of Cathedral of Praise in Elizabethtown, NC for 17 years before retiring and moving to Matthews, North Carolina in 2016

Bro Linton is preceded in death by His parents, one sister, Faye Ruth Coale Two brothers Robert Howell and Jimmie Dan Linton He had a baby brother who died shortly after birth

He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Alice Benson Linton—His forever sweetheart Two sons, David Eugene Jr. James “Ed” Linton and wife Jenna Hendrix Linton Two daughters, Danita C. Costas and husband Jaime Alicia L Metcalf and husband Mick One sister Mary “Tooti” Moye Eleven Grandchildren --Ashlie Hill, Taylor Williamson, Maci Linton, Chelsea Costas, Alyssa Costas, Jerrad Costas, Breanna Hodge, Deanna Hodge, Adam Hodge, Olivia Linton, Wyatt Linton

Three great grandchildren—Knox Hill, Avery Hill, and Lee Williamson

Plus a great host of church family and friends.
