Restaurants to raise money for local CPC

Philadelphia Crisis Pregnancy Center (CPC) Executive Director Dawn Brewer said the organization’s upcoming fundraiser is a way to support local businesses and help a great cause.

Five Neshoba County restaurants are participating in their annual fundraiser. “Plan to eat out on the night of the fundraiser at the participating businesses to support a good cause and dine to make a difference,” Brewer said.

The Crisis Pregnancy Center along with their Family Resource Center serve clients in the East Central Mississippi area. The center provides free pregnancy counseling, court-ordered parenting services, and other counseling and resources for people who are experiencing unexpected or unplanned pregnancies or family hardship.

On Thursday, May 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Bloomo Diner, City Limits, McAlister’s Deli, Ronnie’s Steak and Grill, and Tootie’s Restaurant will be donating all tips received to the CPC.

Brewer said the fundraiser used to be in February, but it has been pushed closer to Mother’s Day following the pandemic.

“In 2021, things were still iffy around Valentine’s Day so we pushed the date to around Mother’s Day, and we’ve stuck to it since then,” Brewer said. “It’s a nice way to keep businesses local and raise money for the CPC.”
