The Leake Academy Rebels open their 2020 football season Friday night when they host Winston Academy in prep football action.

Per Gov. Tate Reeves orders, only two people per participant (players, cheerleaders, dance team) will be able to attend the game because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The Rebels went 6-5 last year in a very tough district. They place third in District 2-AAAAA and made it to second round of the playoffs. Winston Academy went 3-8 last year.

Leake Academy played in the Tri-County jamboree last Thursday and beat Canton Academy 14-0 and Clinton Christian 27-0. Winston played in a jamboree last Friday.

Neshoba Central, Philadelphia, Union and Choctaw Central have canceled their first two scheduled games and won’t open the season until September 4.

Neshoba Central will be at home against Tupelo while Philadelphia will travel to Leake Central. Choctaw Central is scheduled to play Nanih Waiya , and Union will be at home against McAdams.
