The Leake Academy Rebels saw their record drop to 6-10 on the season last week as they lost three games to Starkville Academy in prep baseball action.

The Rebels lost 9-7 and 21-11 in a double-header last Tuesday in Starkville. On Friday night, they dropped a 7-2 decision.

Leake Academy was to host Heritage for a double-header on Tuesday. The Rebels are set to visit Heritage in Columbus on Thursday.

Starkville Academy held off a Leake Academy rally in the seventh inning to claim the win in the first game.

The Volunteers scored one in the first, two in the second, five in the third and one in the fourth. The Rebels scored two in the third, two in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Rhett Atkinson took the pitching loss. Atkinson helped his cause at the plate with three hits, one run and one RBI.

Riley Myers belted two home runs. He scored two runs and knocked in four runs. Parker Thomas hit a double. Thomas Cheatham and Whitt Welch both hit two singles and scored one run.

Leake Academy scored 10 runs in the fourth inning of the second game and took an 11-8 lead. But Starkville Academy answered with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth, four in the fifth and one in the sixth, Cheatham took the pitching loss.

Gunter Scott led the Rebels with a home run and two singles. Cheatham hit a double.

In the third game, Starkville Academy took advantage of four Rebel errors to take the win.

The Volunteers scored three in the second, two in the sixth and two in the seventh. Leake Academy scored one in the first and one in the sixth.

Myers took the pitching loss. He had five strikeouts.

Atkinson hit a home run and a single. He scored two runs and knocked in another. Myers, Will Martin, Scott and Aiden Watkins all had one hit.
