Rebelettes rally to top Hartfield
The Leake Academy Rebelettes grabbed another victory last week.
The Rebelettes overcame a double-digit deficit and improved to 6-0 on the season with a 57-54 win over Hartfield Academy on Tuesday night in their only action of the week while the Rebels lost 76-48.
Leake has a full slate of games next week as they are scheduled to host Kirk on Monday, Pillow on Tuesday and Central Hinds on Thursday.

In a rematch of last year’s Overall finals, the Lady Rebels overcame an early deficit and took a 3-point win over the Lady Hawks.
Hartfield led 17-10 at the end of the first period and led 28-14 at one point in the second. Leake finished strong and outscored Hartfield 18-17 but trailed 34-28 at the half.
Leake started to chip away at the Hartfield lead and outscored the Lady Hawks 15-10 in the third and trailed 44-43 going to the fourth. Leake outscored the Lady Hawks 14-10 in the fourth and took the lead on an Allen Kaye Wilcox putback late in the fourth.
Leake was 21-of-46 from the field and 7-of-22 from the 3-point line.
Miriam Prince led Leake with 26 points while Emeri Warren had 14 points. Katye Jones had 6 points and five rebounds while Grace Maxey had 6 points and three assists.

The Rebels faded late as the Hawks pulled away to take a 28-point win in the boys contest.
Each team scored 16 points apiece in the first period while the Hawks outscored the Rebels 12-6 in the second and led 28-22 at the half. Hartfield pulled away in the second half as they outscored Leake 20-17 in the third and 28-10 in the fourth.
Jack Harkins led Leake with 11 points while Sam Evans had 10 points. Samuel Prince had 9 points while Jake Freeny had 8 and Henry Dabbs added 7.
