Police investigating Sunday shooting at Holland Avenue motel

Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting at a Holland Avenue motel that left one man injured.

Philadelphia Police Det. Bobby Pattillo said officers were dispatched to the Western Motel on Holland Avenue on Sunday, Aug. 1, at 12:01 p.m. He said they were responding to a report of shots fired.

Pattillo said an investigation revealed that the victim, 31-year-old Kendrick Steve, was shot in the leg. 

He then left the area and was found on the Choctaw Indian Reservation. He was then transported to Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian for treatment.

Pattillo said that the case remains under investigation.

Shots fired into a dwelling on West Avenue over the weekend are also being investigated by police.

 Patillo said that on Saturday, July 31, a residence at 1126 West Avenue was shot into multiple times at about 10:30 p.m.

No one was reported injured and the case is currently under investigation, Pattillo said.
