Two early morning crimes, a car theft and an attempted break-in, reported in close proximity to each other last Thursday are being investigated by Philadelphia Police.

Detective Bobby Pattillo said that the two crimes were committed at businesses on south Holland Avenue and Posey Avenue around the same time. The locations are less than a mile away from each other. Pattillo said that there is video from both crimes and they are both under investigation.

“Due to the timeframe in which they occurred and the proximity of the locations it is quite possible they are connected,” Pattillo said.

Pattillo said that on Thursday, July 2, a vehicle described as a 2011 white Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from Deanco Auction on south Holland Avenue. The vehicle was stolen around 2 a.m.

Around the same time period three subjects attempted to break into Philadelphia Gun and Pawn but were unsuccessful, he said.

Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest, in this case, is encouraged to call East Mississippi Crimestoppers at (855) 485-TIPS (8477).
