Police are investigating a wreck that occurred on Ivy Street involving a passenger vehicle and a train that sent one juvenile passenger to the hospital earlier this week.

Philadelphia Police Det. Bobby Pattillo said the accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3.

Officers were dispatched to Ivy Street at the railroad tracks where a vehicle had struck the train as it was going past. One occupant of the vehicle, a passenger, was transported to Neshoba General with minor injuries and was released that day, Pattillo said.

“According to officers on the scene and statements from the engineer the vehicle just ran into the side of the train,” Pattillo said. “The driver did not see the train coming.”

Pattillo said that there were three occupants of the vehicle, the driver and two juvenile passengers.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
