A Philadelphia man has been charged in connection with a pair of break-ins reported at a Beacon Street beauty salon in June.

John Gray, 38, of Philadelphia was arrested and charged on June 28 with two counts of commercial burglary.

Philadelphia Police Det. Bobby Pattillo said the break-ins occurred at Goodness and Grace Beauty Bar, 250 West Beacon Street, on June 7 and June 26.

“He was questioned concerning that latest burglary as well as the one that occurred there on June 7, 2021,” Pattillo said. “Mr. Gray was subsequently charged with two counts of Commercial Burglary for both burglaries.”

Pattillo said that in both cases the cash register was taken. In the June 7 incident, the register was recovered in a nearby dumpster. Pattillo said police have not recovered the cash register taken in the June 26 burglary.

The most recent event was reported around 12:40 a.m. on June 26 when police responded to an alarm going off at the business.

Upon arriving on the scene officers discovered the front door had been broken and entry had been made into the business and that the cash register had been stolen. Department of Investigations was contacted and responded as well, Pattillo said.
