Philly superintendent still in running for Canton alderman

Philadelphia Superintendent of Education Dr. Shannon Whitehead is still a candidate for Ward 2 Alderman in Canton, where she lives, Deputy Canton City Clerk La’Drena C. Wise confirmed on Monday.
Philadelphia School Board President Harold Coburn said in eary February that Whitehead had withdrawn her candidacy.
Whitehead’s announcement has been removed from Facebook where she announced her candidacy on Feb. 8. The Democrat had obtained a screenshot of her post.
Attempts to reach Whitehead and Colburn today have been made.
