Philadelphia police arrest man with drugs after traffic stop
A Neshoba County man was arrested with pills and crystal methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Beacon Street Friday night.
The man, Richard Chad Cumberland, 35, of 10121 Road 2826, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of paraphernalia, according to Police Chief Eric Lyons.
On Friday, Nov. 3, at about 9 p.m. Philadelphia Police officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Cumberland due to a traffic violation on Beacon Street near Poplar Avenue, he said.
During that stop, officers found him to be in possession of hydrocodone pills as well as methamphetamine, Lyons said.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Winston County Jail where he remains in custody on a $21,800 in bond, according to jail records.
