A Philadelphia man was arrested on drug charges at car wash Friday afternoon, the authorities said.

The man, John Matthew Keith, 32, 568 Poplar Avenue, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons.

He said officers encountered Keith when they were answering a call reporting drug activity on Beacon Street at a car wash near Burger King on Friday, April 14, at about 3 p.m.

After officers made contact with Keith, a search of his vehicle found a clear plastic bag with a substance believed to be methamphetamine inside, Lyons said.

“He was placed into custody and booked In for possession of methamphetamine,” Lyons said.
