PAID POLITICAL AD/Jim Fulton seeks re-election as alderman for Ward 2

Longtime Ward 2 Alderman Jim Fulton formally announced his candidacy for reelection this week, citing his dedication to the city and his eight years of experience.

A Republican, Fulton said his voting record indicates that he is conservative with taxpayer money and always transparent with constituents.

“I have never missed a regularly scheduled board meeting,” he said. “It is my job to represent the people of Ward 2 and I make attendance a top priority to ensure residents of Ward 2 have a voice.”

Fulton pledged to continue to work for all of the citizens of Philadelphia and especially for those in Ward 2.  

“I ask you to allow my experience and dedication to continue to work for you so that we can ensure Philadelphia is a place where we can raise our families, worship and work in a city that is safe and moving forward,” he said. “I ask you to choose me as the  candidate who is proven, dedicated, experienced, stable and accessible.  

“Thanks for your vote and support during the general election which will be on June 8 in the Neshoba Baptist Center. “

A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Fulton is a graduate of Philadelphia Public Schools. He attended East Central Community College and Mississippi State University.

He has been married to Lee Ann Burt Fulton for 35 years. She retired after 30 years of service to Philadelphia Public Schools.

They have two sons, Coker (Chelsea) and Kip, both graduates of Philadelphia Public Schools. They also have one grandson, Gunner Fulton.

Fulton is a member of First Baptist Church and is employed by Neshoba General Hospital.

He has represented Ward 2 as alderman for eight years, serving as Street Commissioner for four years.

He served on the Philadelphia Main Street Board for eight years. He is a Certified Municipal Officer on the Mississippi Municipal League.
