About $1,000 in cash has been recovered from a suspect arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Hope Country Store last week, Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said.

The man, Jaterrian M. Stribling, 23, 10181 Road 1131, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and possession of a stolen firearm.

Clark said his office believes they have recovered most of the money taken. Clark said the bulk of the money was found hidden in Stribling’s vehicle after a thorough search by deputies. Clark said the money has been returned to the store owner.

Clark said the Hope Country Store on Highway 488 was the target of the armed robbery on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 7:19 p.m. The suspect left the store in a black Nissan automobile, traveling towards the Choctaw Indian Reservation on Road 149, Clark said.

Neshoba County Deputies spotted the vehicle traveling east on Highway 16 soon after.

The suspect turned into the Pow Wow parking lot and was confronted by deputies and Choctaw Police at 7:30 pm.

Clark said the suspect was identified as Jaterrian Stribling, who was detained without incident.

“He was driving a car that fit the description, wearing the mask that had been described, possessed an AR-15 long gun, and had cash in the door of the car as described by the victim,” Clark said.

The gun was stolen from Madison County, Clark said.
