On Saturday June 25, Center Hill Baptist Church, will have gospel singing at 6:00 p.m. The Gospel Group performing is One Way Quartet. Dinner and fellowship will follow. Center Hill invites all to come and attend this event. Come for an eventful evening filled with singing, worship, and fellowship. SOIL and water scholarships

Neshoba County Soil and Water Conservation District, a member of the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts (MACD), announces its annual call for applications for five scholarships to be awarded in January 2023. First place: $10,000. Second place: $10,000. Third place: $10,000. Fourth place: $10,000. Fifth place: $10,000 and sixth place $10,000. These scholarship awards are open to any college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in a college or university in the state of Mississippi.

• Applications will be evaluated based on student’s grade point average, activities and leadership qualities, financial need and supporting materials. The Scholarship is open to students pursuing a Natural Resources field of study.

Revival

Homecoming and Revival at Crossroads Baptist Church will begin Sunday, June 26, 2022.

Bro. Gene Higgingbottom will bring the Homecoming message Sunday morning. Crossroads was his first church. Lunch will be provided after morning service. 

Bro. Tyler Bryant will preach the night of the 26th., Bro. Bryan Gillis will preach the nights of the 27th and 28th., Bro. David Nelson will preach the night of the 29th. 

Sunday night service will begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday thru Wednesday nights will begin at 7:00 p.m.

CHURCH field day 

The Mt. Enon and St. Paul church families are sponsoring a community wide field day and gospel singing at the St. Paul church baseball field in Philadelphia on July 2nd, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the softball tournament and the gospel singing beginning at 2:00 p.m. all area church families are cordially invited to attend. 

NESHOBA COUNTY FAIR EXHIBIT HALL SIGN-UP 

Come by the MSU Extension Service-Neshoba County office and pick up your entry forms, entry tags and exhibitor number for the Neshoba County Fair Exhibit Hall.  Youth ages 8-18 can enter items in the categories of fresh fruits and vegetables, field crops, food preservation, food-nutrition, posters, and arts and crafts.  Adult categories include fresh fruits and vegetables, field crops, food preservation, and cultural arts. The deadline to pick up your entry forms, tags and exhibitor number is Monday, July 11. Call 601-656-4011 or come by the Extension Service office at the Neshoba County Coliseum for more information.

AGING PROGRAMS 

The East Central Planning and Development District/Area Agency on Aging will hold an in-person Public Hearing for Aging Programs on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. 

The purpose of this hearing is to inform all interested persons and organizations about programs and services available for persons aged 60 and above in Clarke, Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, and Smith Counties.

The goals and objectives for Fiscal Year October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023, will be discussed and an update of current year activities will be presented.  Comments from the public will be welcomed.
